All-in-one storage
ESY Sunhome
The ESY range is where we go when the numbers get large. The three phase system scales past 90 kWh in one installation, which puts it beyond a home battery and into territory most residential brands do not reach.
When a home battery is not big enough
Most residential storage tops out somewhere between 30 and 50 kWh. That covers the overwhelming majority of houses, and for a typical home we would usually be steering you toward something smaller anyway.
But some sites do not fit that shape. A large property on three phase with ducted climate control, a pool, a workshop and two electric cars is a different consumption profile to a suburban house. So is a small commercial site that wants storage without stepping into commercial and industrial equipment.
The three phase ESY system scales from 10.54 kWh to 94.86 kWh in a single installation, built from 10 kWh class modules across multiple stacks. That range is why we carry it.
The single phase system covers the ordinary end, from 5.12 kWh up to 30.72 kWh across six modules.
What we supply from ESY Sunhome
Every unit is an all-in-one, meaning the inverter, the battery modules and the management electronics ship as a single pre-configured stack. A smart meter with current transformers is included in the packages we quote.
Single phase all-in-one
HM5
5 kW
Storage from 5.12 kWh up to 30.72 kWh across six modules. The standard residential configuration.
Single phase all-in-one
HM10
10 kW
Same storage range with double the output, for single phase homes with heavier peak demand.
Three phase all-in-one
HM10-H and HM15
10 and 15 kW
Storage from 10.54 kWh to 94.86 kWh across up to nine modules and multiple stacks, with whole home backup.
Four things we tell people before quoting
Weight is a genuine planning issue
A single phase unit runs from around 93 kg at the base configuration to over 340 kg fully stacked. The three phase system reaches into the hundreds of kilograms and beyond. That is not a problem, but it does mean the mounting surface and the floor beneath it need to be assessed properly rather than assumed, particularly on a timber floor or a deck.
Height changes as you add capacity
The single phase unit grows from roughly 780 mm at base to nearly 1,900 mm fully stacked. If you are planning where it goes, plan for the final height rather than the starting one, because units get added under an existing eave more often than people expect.
IP66 and a wide temperature range
The enclosure is IP66 rated, a step above the IP65 common in this category, and the system is rated to operate between minus 25 and 60 degrees. Neither Melbourne nor Perth tests the lower end, but the upper end matters on a west facing wall in February.
Backup capability is in the design
The three phase system is built around whole home backup rather than treating it as an accessory. If backup across a large property is the reason you are buying, this is the range to look at first.

Questions we get asked
Is this overkill for a normal house?
Usually, yes, and we will tell you so. The single phase unit at the smaller end suits an ordinary home perfectly well, but the reason we carry ESY is the top of the three phase range. If your consumption does not justify it, a smaller system from another brand will serve you better and cost less.
How heavy is it?
From around 93 kg for a base single phase unit up to over 340 kg fully stacked, and considerably more on three phase. We assess the mounting surface during the site visit. It is a real consideration on suspended floors and decks.
How much space do I need?
Plan for the fully stacked height rather than the starting configuration. A single phase unit can reach close to 1,900 mm once every module is added. We work out the final footprint at the assessment.
Will it handle a Perth or Melbourne summer?
It is rated to 60 degrees and carries an IP66 enclosure, which is a step above most of the category. We still keep it off a west facing wall where the site allows.
Does it do whole home backup?
The three phase system is designed around it. As always, backup involves switchboard work to decide which circuits stay live, and that gets planned before the quote rather than after.
Large property, heavy load?
If you are on three phase with a pool, ducted climate control or electric vehicles, send us twelve months of consumption data. This is the range that covers it, and we will tell you honestly if something smaller would do.
